My name is Mrs. Hall. I am the School Counselor at Forest Hills School. I proudly serve all students in grades K-12.
The mission of the School Counseling Department is:
To provide all students with a comprehensive school counseling program centered around an educating, empowering and challenging environment, achieving growth in academic, career and personal/social domains. In partnership with teachers, administrators, parents and community, the school counselors will help all students to be successful, unique, respectful citizens, lifelong learners and problem solvers.

Classroom Guidance Lessons
I provide classroom guidance lessons that are developmentally appropriate to every grade level. Lessons support our school's culture and environment, encouraging positive core values and traits including, but not limited to: fairness, responsibility, accountability, respectfulness, and kindness.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
Emotion Management, Empathy & Respect, Skills for Learning, Active Listening Skills, Being Assertive,
Problem Solving, Seeking Help, Dealing with Peer Pressure, Dealing with Gossip, Accepting Differences,
Being Fair, Positive Self-talk, Responsibility, Bullying Prevention, Healthy Choices, Personal Safety
Small Group Counseling
Small counseling groups consist of children (typically 4-6) from similar grade levels. These children are chosen to be part of a group depending on the topic. Students may sign up for a specific group, teachers or parents may refer, or students could be chosen by the counselor. Topics include, but are not limited to the following:
Divorce, Changing Families, Study Skills, New Students, Social Skills, Friendship, Anger & Stress Management, and Grief.
Typically groups meet once a week, for a period of 6-8 weeks. Parents will be informed when their child is being asked to participate in a group via a parent permission letter or a phone call from the school counselor.
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling is based upon an open-door policy for all students and staff.
Referrals can also be made by teachers and/or parents.
